Adam Price AS yn Aberystwyth via Blog Dogfael October 26th, 2008 at 22:27

image Nos Wener diwethaf roedd ‘na gyfarfod arbennig o gangen Aberystwyth a Phenparcau o Blaid Cymru yng nghanolfan Merched y Wawr. Roedd dau wedi dod i siarad sef Adam Price, AS Dwyrain Caerfyrddin a Dinefwr, ac ymgeisydd seneddol Ceredigion, Penri James. Fe roddodd Adam Price arolwg o’r sefyllfa economaidd a’r ffordd allan o’r argyfwng presennol. Roedd ei ymdriniaeth yn feistrolgar, ond fel un nad yw’n deall cymaint â hynny am economeg mae’n rhaid imi gyfaddef nad oeddwn yn deall popeth yr oedd yn ei ddweud. Un o’r pethau allweddol yn ei gyflwyniad oedd yr angen am fuddsoddiad cyhoeddus mewn projectau mawr er mwyn creu swyddi ac er mwyn ceisio atal chwalfa economaidd. Roeddwn i’n rhyw hanner gobeithio y buasai’n sôn am ail-agor...

We Don’t Need a Corporation to Raise a Chicken or Vote via Aberdare Blog June 23rd, 2008 at 13:15

image Adam Price, Plaid Cymru’s election campaign co-ordinator, sent a mailshot to Plaid Cymru supporters two months ago asking “Are you on Facebook?”. Fortunately, we are not. Here’s why … Facebook is an American corporation. It exists to make a pile of money. That is the purpose of a corporation. It makes money by providing what is dubbed a ’social networking service’ and saturating users of such a service with advertising. Nowadays, Welsh politicians of all parties bandy corporate brand names as if they held talismanic political properties. It is an absurd and exploitative relationship. Why would we surrender our privacy to a commercial proxy to become “involved” with Plaid (or any other Party) ? That is not a means to engage in...

Llongyfarchiadau via Blog Dogfael November 9th, 2007 at 19:52

image Llongyfarchiadau i Adam Price, aelod seneddol Dwyrain Caerfyrddin a Dinefwr ar ennill gwobr gwefan wleidyddol y flwyddyn a ddyfernir gan y British Computer Society. Roedd hanes ar wefan y BBC yn yr adran Technology. Mae’n dda iawn gweld gwefan ddwyieithog yn cipio gwobr o’r fath. Er nad y blog fel y cyfrif ennillodd y wobr mae’n rhaid llongyfrach hwnnw ar fod yn un o’r blogiau glweidyddol Cymreig mwyaf bywiog hefyd. Note: You can rate this post by visiting the site. Rhanna hwn...

Dai could take on Stalin any day…. via Live from the Socialist Fortress August 14th, 2007 at 11:37

It's common knowledge that I have a fair bit to say when we get on to the topic of the People's Voice. As of late, I haven't been alone. One of Plaid's top brass has been touting a 'new model rainbow' for Wales, one that's inclusive of Dai and his party.People’s Voice, as a popular movement more akin to the civic forums that defeated Stalinism in Eastern Europe, is more difficult to characterise ideologically. But everyone I have spoken to in PV Blaenau Gwent – including Peter and Trish Law and Dai Davies – can be described as passionate socialists ‘of the Welsh stripe’. In a sense People’s Voice is in a long tradition – from Harry Pollitt’s near-miss in the Rhondda, to S.O.Davies’ successful rebel candidature, to Plaid’s various Valleys’ breakthroughs, to Forward...

Cwmpawd Gwleidyddol: dwi dal ar y chwith - maen swyddogol! via Blog Rhys Llwyd May 31st, 2007 at 13:20

image Bydd sawl un ohonoch yn gyfarwydd a'r wefan www.politicalcompass.org. Ar y wefan yma fe allwch chi ateb set o gwestiynau yna ar sail eich atebion maen cyfrifo lle ydych chi ar y spectrwm gwleidyddol chwith-dde ac awdurdodol-rhyddfrydol. Gan fod yr holl gwestiwn o leoli ideoleg a pholisïau gwleidyddol yn dysen boeth ers yr etholiad a'r Sosialydd mawr Adam Price yn dod i gytundeb ar agenda llywodraeth gyda'r Ceidwadwyr (do, fe ddaeth tro ar fyd) tybiais y byddai'n ymarfer da i mi ail wneud y prawf ar y wefan.Ers i mi ddechrau yn y Brifysgol bron a bod bedair mlynedd yn ôl maen rhaid i mi gyfaddef fy mod wedi teimlo fy hun yn symud rhywfaint i'r dde. Nid mod i bellach ar y dde ond fod fy chwithdod/sosialaeth wedi dod yn fwy pragmataidd fel yr esboniais yn fanwl yn y postiad yma. Yn eiddgar...

Would Plaid kiss goodbye to Kate? via Blamerbell Briefs February 21st, 2007 at 09:15

This woman, Kate Middleton, is electoral gold dust. Yesterday, she was voted the most naturally beautiful woman in the world. As Prince William's girlfriend, she has a huge place in British public life. It would be a brave political party that proposed to get rid of her. But, we're led to believe, that's exactly what Plaid Cymru would do if elected in May.Back in August 2006, Plaid's director of elections Adam Price MP said:"Next year it will be 700 years since Edward I created the title (The Prince of Wales). It has long been a symbol of subjection to the English throne. We must not be burdened by such historic humiliation. I propose we have a referendum to scrap it. The existing Prince of Wales should be the last, and I am sure that the majority of the people of Wales would vote in favour...

Hallelujah! Rhodri blogs via Blamerbell Briefs February 12th, 2007 at 18:17

Plaid's Rhodri Glyn Thomas has clearly been very busy in the past three months. He has, however, had time to bark at Peter Hain. He's had time to bring Adam Price MP to the verge of a heart attack. And he's even had time to completely forget why he was so angry at Labour and talk instead about how they're the perfect partners for government. But he hasn't had time to blog, until now.Welcome back. What next, a New Year message from Alun...

New blog #001 - Rhodri Glyn Thomas via Blamerbell Briefs December 1st, 2006 at 13:52

The Assembly has another blogging AM. I spotted a link to Rhodri Glyn Thomas's blog on Adam Price's site.Only two posts, so far, and both in Welsh. If he says anything interesting, I'll translate. The one thing I've noticed so far is that Welsh speakers refer to Rhodri Morgan as 'y prif weinidog.' This translates as 'Prime Minister' rather than 'First Minister,' which is usually used in...

Welsh politicians are all winners via Blamerbell Briefs November 30th, 2006 at 12:40

image Welsh politicians swept the board at last night's Welsh Politician of the Year awards in Cardiff Bay. Funny that.Peter Hain won the big prize for promoting himself to the rank of Viceroy, err, sorry, for guiding the new Government of Wales Act through parliament.Plaid's Adam Price won MP of the year for single-handedly providing the only credible opposition to the government on Iraq.Conservative health spokesman, Jonathan Morgan, won AM of the year, for his wonderful dress sense and full head of hair.Education minister Jane Davidson won communicator of the year. Not sure how, she still hasn't replied to my email. And there were four other awards too, just to make sure that every Welsh politician did, in fact, receive some sort of prize. Briefly, Neil Kinnock won the 'Nearest a ginger...

Plaid: ‘Bring the boys back home’ via Blamerbell Briefs November 13th, 2006 at 19:17

Plaid and the SNP are frantically trying to gather names to back an amendment to the Queen's speech on Wednesday. The amendment calls on the government to outline their Iraq strategy before parliament breaks for Christmas.I spoke to Plaid's Adam Price MP earlier, who said that they need at least as many votes as Liberal Democrat members in the house to get the amendment called by the speaker. He was enraged that the prime minister will give evidence to the Baker study group in America, but won't speak to his own parliament about the issue. There's a historical precedent for the move - in 1923 the Liberal Party tabled an amendment to the King's Speech, which demanded withdrawal from Mesopotamia (now Iraq).I'm told the Queen's speech hasn't been successfully amended by opposition politicians...
