McDonald’s Opens Quarter Pounder Restaurants In Japan via A Welsh View November 12th, 2008 at 20:20

image McDonald's has opened two restaurants in Japan that sell only Quarter Pounder meals (single or double). Aptly titled, Quarter Pounder, the restaurants are probably part of a marketing campaign to promote the burger which is not currently sold in regular McDonald's restaurants. Neil Duckett has more photos of one of the restaurants that shows a nightclub-like interior and very simplistic packaging (without an 'M' in sight).......

Confessions of a Naked Sushi Model via A Welsh View October 28th, 2008 at 18:31

image Confessions of a first-time naked sushi model. As the men got drunker, their timidity vanished. Chopsticks flashed above me as they navigated the buffet, taking their dinner from my curves and crevices. For an hour and a half I laid there, while the men surrounding me drank and ate and stared, and sometimes poked at my bare body. Toward the end, I had to dart my eyes across the ceiling to avoid falling asleep. I was that comfortable, or that wishful for escape. If you live in New York you can try it out here.......

45 Million Year Old Beer via A Welsh View September 30th, 2008 at 12:22

A tiny colony of yeast trapped inside a Lebanese weevil covered in ancient Burmese amber for up to 45 million years, has been brought back to life in barrels of beer. Emeritus Professor Raul Cano of the California Polytechnic State University, originally extracted the yeast a decade ago and has used the reactivated yeast to brew barrels of pale ale and German wheat beer. According to beer reviewers, the beer has "a weird spiciness at the finish" which is due to the ancient yeast's unique metabolism.......

City Beer Store, San Francisco via A Welsh View September 23rd, 2008 at 22:14

image Image via I've just discovered the City Beer Store in San Francisco. This store is like a small piece of beer heaven. And when you are ready to go you can “mix & match” a 6 pack to take with you. Has anyone been......
