Laws of Simplicity via Shared Creation Projects June 14th, 2008 at 20:59

We speak here of writing, film and other media, but I’ve been taking a look at a blog that speaks about design. Design tends to sit about and when its good - we hardly notice it, when its great - we go “Way Cool”, and when its bad we tend to gripe. Yet despite the [...]...

Shared Creation on Facebook via Shared Creation Projects February 11th, 2008 at 22:04

I torn as to whether this should be a news post in the magazine or here in the Projects section. I figured that what I’m about to talk about only grows and exists so long as it is worked on - so its a project. A Shared Creation group now exists on Facebook. It’s purpose is [...]...

Gorman and the missing Good via info NeoGnostic June 24th, 2007 at 09:00

Many-to-Many points to one of two new Michael Gorman postings: Siren Song of the Internet contains a curious omission and a basic misunderstanding. The omission is part of his defense of the Luddites; the misunderstanding is about the value of paper and the nature of e-books. This statement does not go far enough. Read Gorman and you cannot help but agree with some of the more obvious statements that he makes..."the Internet in particular and the digital resources available to us in general are ineluctable forces that are shaping our lives, in many ways for the better" or "we must exercise judgment, use digital resources intelligently, and import into the digital world the values that have pervaded scholarship in Western societies for many centuries" You are lulled into a false sense of...

Spreading the Castingnet via Shared Creation Projects December 24th, 2006 at 19:24

So here is a quote of the entry in the Magazine. Enjoy We’d like to introduce you to castingfirst.net Putting it simply this is [...]...

Get those Objections OFF!! via Hit It For Six January 2nd, 2006 at 17:41

image It is still not known when the deadline for objections to the GCCC application will be. But the sooner they go off the better. So please write your letters now! The fact that you wrote before about the first application no longer counts. Please do it again. The key new point is that it is much the same as before (bar the prettying up and the spin) but the GCCC documents accept all the criticisms that were made last time. This document contains all you need: it's RTF format so will work in most wordprocessors. As before though, use your own words, rather than cut and paste. And don't forget to write to everyone - not just the Planning Department....

Spend, Spend - to SAVE! via Hit It For Six December 31st, 2005 at 12:26

No, not another sale, but a real chance to put money into the campaign to protect Cardiff's historic parklands - and have something to show for it. Today the Hit It For Six shop goes on-line. Here you can buy an exclusive range of campaign goodies - all designed to promote the message into 2006. The "Just Say No!" range uses bold typography to let people know what we are concerned about - stopping Glamorgan Cricket Club developing one of Wales' listed parklands with a 17,000 seat stadium and a 2,500 spectator permanent indoor arena. Those braving the weather - or in central heating - can sport the two sided T-Shirt with the "Just Say No! and Hit It For Six logo on the front, and the full text on the back. Or you can argue with colleagues at work over the coffee mug. The...

New Petition for download via Hit It For Six December 18th, 2005 at 08:46

Since Glamorgan Cricket Club have submitted a new application - albeit with minimal changes to the old one - Objectors have to start from scratch. That means new Petitions, new objection letters.  It's most important too that as many objections are tabled within the 21 days period since these will be reviewed by officers and commented in their report. The planning department has made it clear, however, that all objections received up until the day of the meeting WILL be tabled for committee - it's just that they won't be recognised as such in their report. We don't know if the application will be at the January Meetings (there are two on 18th and 25th) since there are other consultations such as the Conservation committee which have to be completed.  The Next Meeting is 15th...
