As long-time readers of this blog may know, I (along with lots of pop-culture-obsessed UK’ers) am a huge fan of Spaced. For those not in the know, it’s almost a British piss-take on Seinfeld, albeit obsessed with pop culture instead of the people around them. (In so many ways, Seinfeld would have worked better if it was British! I mean, what other nation is such an expert when it comes to examining the innards of human society, and the bizarre rituals and expectations that grow up around them?)
Anyway, skip to the end and while Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright (director) went off to do many funny things (and Pegg is the new Scotty for Star Trek), Jessica Stevenson’s career seemed to take an interesting turn.

An advert for Snickers featuring Mr T that was taken off the air after receiving just 2 complaints.
The real reason that the advert was taken off the air was because a U.S.lobby group called the Human Rights Campaign the campaign even though it hadn't aired in the States.
The group criticised Mars – which makes Snickers – for condoning ‘the notion that the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community is a group of second class citizens and that violence against GLBT people is not only acceptable but humorous’.
This is despite the advert, as well as another featuring Mr T being received positively in the UK. [via]...

Video: Channel 4 Broadcasts Live Television Advert By Honda via A Welsh View
Channel 4 have broadcast an ambitious advert by Honda which shows a group of 19 professional skydivers spelling out the company's name live from the skies above Spain. The team had just three minutes and 20 seconds to execute the advert and managed to do it without a hitch.
The advert itself is pretty uneventful but it was the first live television advert to be broadcast in Britain. I was unaware that it was going to be broadcast so was little confused when it appeared.

Fox is developing a spin-off series of Prison Break, which would be set in a women's prison.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the series is tentatively titled 'Prison Break: Cherry Hill' and would focus on Molly, a character who will be introduced later in the new series of 'Prison Break'.
Molly is an upper-middle-class wife whose family is destroyed by The Company and who travels to the Panamanian prison where Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) are held in her quest for revenge.

'Cherry Hill' would find Molly serving life in a women's prison for her acts of vengeance.
She has accepted her fate until she discovers that some of her family may be alive.
